Pine Island Area Historical Society

About Us

The Pine Island Area Historical Society was organized in 1998. On August 27, 2005 we purchased the Collins-Glamm home at 314 North Main in Pine Island. This home is now the Pine Island Area History Center. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible.

Our Mission

The society is dedicated to the collection, preservation and dissemination of knowledge about the history of the Pine Island, Minnesota area and to relating that history to that of the State of Minnesota. To accomplish these goals, we're committed to the:

  • Establishment of clearly defined collection, conservation, and interpretation policies
  • Location and collection of any material which may help to establish or illustrate the history of the Pine Island, Minnesota area
  • Dissemination of historical information to interested persons, groups, and institutions, arousing interest in history

  • Alternative hours can be arranged by special appointment by calling Loraine Vettel at 507-356-4168, Doris Glamm at 507-356-4112, or Jerry Vettel at 507-993-4860.
  • The History Center will be closed when school is closed because of inclement weather.
